Jackson State | Hometown: Jackson, MS | HT: 6020 | WT: 211 | 40 time: 4.55 | Hand: 0934 | Arm: 3134 | Wing: 7958
Two-year starter. Started career at Jackson State in 2019 and transferred to Mississippi Gulf CC in 2020 and then Alcorn State. Transferred back from Alcorn State prior to the 2024 season. Typically aligns at nickel with some experience at outside corner and safety. Tall, long hybrid prospect with exceptional length and an enticing build. Adept as an overhang player with impressive agility in space. Instinctive against the run with linebacker-like reactions. Shows suddenness to trigger downhill versus run and constrict lanes. Patient with flow away keeping hips square to the backfield. Eager to initiate contact and get involved in the trenches. Disengages from blocks with strong hands. Great sideline-to-sideline range using long strides to chase runners on the perimeter. High effort player in backside pursuit. Will hammer ball carriers showing up in his vicinity to take them to the ground. Explodes into tackles with force and finish. Underneath in zone coverage he uses quarterback intentions to position to take away targets. Sufficient speed to go vertically downfield with faster receivers. At times lunges on jams causing loss of balance when he misses. Subpar strength allows blocking receivers to wash him out of the picture at times. Shows some tightness in his hips on turn and run. Shifty receivers can lose him on route breaks. Can lose targets in zone while staring at the quarterback. Level of competition will be significantly higher in the NFL. Not a complete product; it will take time to fully develop, but the talent is there for a hybrid role in the NFL.
