Toledo | Hometown: Fort Wayne, IN | HT: 6037 | WT: 305 | 40 time: 4.95 | Hand: 1000 | Arm: 3400 | Wing: 8278
Three year starter. Spent six years at Toledo. Third team All-MAC in 2023 and first team All-MAC in 2024. Well proportioned frame with strong upper and lower body. Has height, length and long arms with a wingspan. Played all the interior alignments at Toledo from a three to a one technique. Often stemmed from different alignments prior to the snap. Just as comfortable playing one gap as two along with slanting to gaps. Shows an explosive get off shooting his hands into blockers with powerful knee bend. Gets underneath the pads and forklifts interior lineman. Extends his long arms to separate from the blocker. Normally keeps his feet moving to constrict gaps. Strong hands and lateral movement allows him to play two gap and come off a block reacting to the ball carrier’s cut. Does a nice job making tackles all along the line. Excellent holding the point of attack and doesn’t get knocked off the ball on double teams. Hits gaps on slants and can be disruptive in the backfield. As a pass rusher, flashes snap quickness to go with speed to power. Uses a bull rush effectively to create pressure and has driven his man back into the quarterback. Shows a strong club move to knock a blocker off balance. Effective with a bull rush into a move creating a two way go. Rip, swim and cross chops have been go-to moves. Some inconsistency at the snap, he occasionally comes off high and loses leverage. Can get tied up if his early move stalls rushing the passer. At times gets too involved trying to maul a blocker instead of finding the ball. Needs some refinement, but has three down NFL potential.
