Junior entry, two year starter with one at Michigan State. Transferred after the 2023 season. Third team All-Big 10 in 2024. Thick build with strong upper body and length. Used as a three technique down to a zero in the front. Effective as both a two gap and one gap player. Quick at the snap he’s effective controlling a gap and penetrating in the backfield. Effective splitting double teams. Handles down blocks and stays on path. Can be disruptive playing a gap and normally shows gap integrity. Quick strong hands can knock a blocker back. Solid anchor, he rarely gets moved off the line. Adept at outside pick and tex stunts with the ability to knock a blocker off balance and quickly ricochet back inside. Has enough bend and flex to turn the corner coming off a stunt. Very good stack and shed with a quick inside punch to stun and separate from blocks. Can be violent with his hands allowing him to quickly come off a block to make a play inline. Solid lateral movement gets him to a lot of inline plays across the front. As a pass rusher, shows a bull rush to collapse the pocket but also has an arm under or over to get free. Has a nice closing burst for someone his size. Occasionally pops upright out of his stance and has a tendency to get chest to chest on blocks. He needs to be consistent with punch to create separation. His hands can get outside the frame at times. Some hip tightness shows changing direction, causing an occasional missed tackle after penetrating. Occasionally overplays a gap creating space to run. He could use more in the pass rush arsenal. Has the toolset of an impact interior defender and with some refinement should be a three down starter in the NFL.
