Four-year starter. Transfer from Miami prior to the 2024 season. First-team All-ACC this past fall. Aligns at three-tech in four-down fronts and 4i in three-down fronts. Solid height with below average weight, a muscular frame, and average arm length. Versatility to make an impact on the interior and edge. Shows a quick first step that prevents him from getting reached. When shaded, will extend and plant his feet to anchor in his gap. Excellent contact balance when he picks up a second blocker or gets shoved. Active hands to swat away linemen and keep longer players off of him. Disengages with extension and functional strength to show up when runners enter his gap. Has shown a couple ways to win on initial engagement and shows sufficient counter moves to win with second efforts. Great hand strength to snatch linemen with a quick arm-over to work into the backfield. Able to skinny-up and squeeze into gaps with strong hands to gain momentum pushing off of other linemen. Uses a violent hand swipe matched with considerable cornering ability to lean into linemen and shorten his path to the quarterback. Athletic profile makes him an ideal option for stunts. High motor player who never quits on the play. Occasionally late off the snap. Needs to drop his pad level to out-leverage linemen and utilize his strength better. Hand placement and strike could be better to improve his bullrush. Lacks the functional strength to split double teams. Fringe twitch to cross-face with suddenness. Speed is slow in pursuit.
