Mississippi | Hometown: Suwanee, GA | HT: 6057 | WT: 274 | 40 time: 5.15 | Hand: 0878 | Arm: 3418 | Wing: 8258
Three year starter (one at Georgia Tech). Consensus first team All-SEC in 2023 and third team All-SEC in 2024. Transferred from Georgia Tech in 2022. Ideal size for an edge defender but somewhat high cut. Has the versatility to play inside and has played from a wide nine to a three technique. Flashes an explosive get off with powerful knee bend and hand usage to get under blocker’s pads. Gets extension with his long arms and can stack and shed while locating the ball. Can set the edge as a wide nine and closes quickly when the ball breaks inside. Effective stunting to inside gaps and can disrupt in the backfield. His power has been useful on inside stunts picking for tackles and working upfield. Shows decent range in pursuit for his size. Has a nice short area burst with above average lateral agility to make plays down the line. Adept coming off blocks to make plays on the backside. Has been a productive pass rusher from a wide nine and a three technique. Sets up his moves and can stack moves to get free. Shows a bull rush into a move and has an effective arm over move. Shows some out to in counters lined up wide. Most effective rushing from a three technique as his technique matches up better on the interior. Doesn’t always anchor against power and can get knocked off balance by powerful offensive linemen. Plays too high at times and doesn’t have the bend or flex to avoid getting ridden out by an athletic tackle. Lacks a consistent motor. Fits as a rotational player inside or outside.
2024 Stats: 42 T, 10.5 TFL, 7 sacks, 3 PBU, 9 QBH, 2 FF. Draft projection: 3rd/4th round
