Four-year starter. Second-Team All PAC 12 selection in 2023 with first-team honors in 2022. Leader of the defense from his off-ball linebacker spot. Well undersized linebacker prospect with short arms. Instinctual linebacker who is almost always in the right place. Solid athlete overall with footwork and agility to make an impact at the next level. Quick to diagnose and react to different run schemes, and puts himself in position to leverage his gap. Unafraid to trigger and initiate contact, and will throw all of his weight into blockers to destroy them. Able to maneuver through traffic with quick subtle movements to work into the backfield. Notable change-of-direction skills when dropping in coverage. Reads quarterback intentions and rapidly gets in the way of throwing lanes. Able to recognize route concepts and position himself best to take away threats underneath. A violent downhill player who adds value as a blitzer in pass rush. High motor play with no “quit” in his game. His light frame and fringe strength will make it difficult to live in the trenches at the next level. Sideline-to-sideline speed is a step slower than desirable. While he possesses quality tackling form, he lacks the strength to bring runners down consistently. Bigger ball carriers can overpower him in coverage and box him out for completions.
