Sixth-year veteran on the Tennessee defensive line. Team captain. Aligned at a variety of one-tech and three-tech in Tennessee’s four-down fronts. Humongous nose tackle prospect with a wide frame. Athletic freak for a man of his size and stature. Notable burst off the line with low pad level to get underneath linemen. Powerful with excellent pop on contact and squeezes his way into gaps with a quick first step. On engagement he stays square and gives up minimal yards with a sturdy base and strong anchor. Will side inside from three-tech while engaged with lateral agility to create pile-ups. Strong, active hands engage inside and swat away arms of linemen. Holds his own against double teams with the strength to split. In pass rush he bullrushes linemen straight into the quarterback with excellent strength and notable foot drive. Impressive cornering ability to slant into gaps and lean into linemen to take sharper angles to the quarterback. Swallows up ball carriers of all sizes to bring them to the ground. High effort player in pursuit with really impressive speed for someone of his size. Has never been a full-time starter for Tennessee and plays only a handful of snaps a game. Footwork can be clumsy at times making it difficult to anchor. Must learn how to take on blocks from angles better, especially in zone blocking schemes. Very short arms make it difficult to create extension and shed when needed. While he can collapse the pocket with success, he is a project in pass rush.
