One year starter. Second team All-Big 12 in 2024. Transferred from Wisconsin in 2023 after being dismissed from the team. Spent four seasons at Wisconsin playing in 26 games with three starts. An exceptional athlete, with a “long” rangy body, he physically checks the boxes with great arm length. Is strong at the point of attack. Displays quickness off the ball, with ability to pull across the line and lead up on the linebacker. Good stun with his hands on contact. Foot speed allows him to sink under, control and get his hands on the defender on zone blocks. Continues to be a work in progress, as he appears to be getting better with time. Well-schooled in encouraging the defense upfield to slip out on screens. Shows a quick punch and gather in pass protection. Can mirror with above average footwork. With a little more of a lower back end will be a solid right tackle candidate. He is a little “green” with his lack of experience. Needs to drop set better to take away the defensive lineman's two way go and the same with his consistent center of the body punch. Needs to lower his pad level, but he has a real wallop when punching the defender. Occasionally engages too high. Has moments of brilliance followed by inconsistent decision making. Physical frame with an inexperienced body of work. Is still ascending into his role up front. His athleticism will make him an ideal developmental candidate for a zone oriented scheme.
