Four-year starter. Transfer from Jackson State and South Carolina. Pac-12 honorable mention in 2023, second team All-SWAC in 2021. Experienced safety with 54 games played over six seasons. Typically aligned as the deep safety with mostly one-high and some two-high coverages. Solid size with good muscle definition. Smooth balanced backpedal with fluidity in his lower body. Considerable range from depth and leverages multiple vertical receiving threats well. Despite his lack of ball production, he tracks the ball in the air well and will get underneath throws to pick off passes. Accelerates downfield in an instant to fill the alley, and tackles with violence to bring bigger ball carriers to the ground. Possesses the speed to be a sideline-to-sideline defender at the next level. High effort player who will give everything he has to make the tackle downfield; takes pride in making the play. Occasionally late to get his run-pass read making him late to get in ideal position. Some tightness when weaving in his backpedal. Change-of-direction is slow as it takes him time to plant his foot in the ground and drive. Gets turned around in man coverage against running backs and tight ends on sharp breaks. Needs some improvements with pursuit angles as he lets runners get out in front of him. While he has shown the strength and technique to wrap up and tackle, he sometimes leaves his feet or shoulder-checks causing missed tackles. His athletic limitations make him a difficult projection to the NFL.
