Three-year starter. Transfer from Texas A&M prior to the 2024 season. Team captain. Honorable mention All-ACC this past fall. Productive edge with his hand in the dirt or standing up. Big, filled-out frame with length that makes him enticing to work with. Fires off the ball with low pad level and is able to get underneath pads immediately. Can shed blocks with a decent shuck and rip. Throws his big frame into pullers to stop them in their tracks. Has shown some success in pass rush. His most successful move is a club-and-rip move with solid cornering ability to pressure the quarterback. Utilizes his length to long arm linemen back into the quarterback. Slants inside with a tough stab to work his way into the gap. Hammers ball carriers with great form to finish tackles with limited yards-after-contact. Below average burst off the ball and takes him a moment to get started. Needs to see more polish with his hands; connects with a soft punch and needs to develop some more moves to win when engaged. Can get lost looking for the football against the run and gets out-of-position regularly. Stiffness in his joints limits his potential. Struggles to flip his hips towards the quarterback when he beats tackles on the edge. Lack of twitch and suddenness makes it easy for linemen to mirror him in space. Notable tightness in his hips when moving laterally and is not a threat in stunts.
