Three year starter. Started 24 straight games at left tackle and was a steady presence on the Bearcat’s offensive line. Has solid size and length with strong hands. Shows a quick get-off on run blocks flashing some pop in initial strike. Moves well laterally to seal on reach blocks. Mops up with finish on double teams. In pass protection has above average agility working against edge rushers. Shows a good pop and recoil to react to reset position after initial strike. Can react to counters cutting off out to in moves. Lacks consistent finish on run blocks and doesn’t create a lot of movement off the ball. More of a waist bender than sink the hips and drive guy. Lacks consistent punch to generate power at the point of attack. While he has agility and his mirror ability is a strength at times he takes extra resetting and gives an edge rusher an opening. Lacks consistent power in pass protection and is vulnerable to a bull rush. Gives ground a little too easily and can allow a two way go. Will need to develop more functional strength to succeed at the next level as that is a factor in his weak areas. Could project to guard in the NFL.
