2025 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about JACK NELSON:
Wisconsin | Hometown: Stoughton, WI | HT: 6070 | WT: 318 | 40 time: N/A | Hand: 1000 | Arm: 3334 | Wing: 8138
Three year starter. Two time Academic All-Big 10. Tall with length and reach. Plays with a wide base. Shows good pop with extended arms. Passes off and receives the guards man smoothly. Seals off inside move, but can be bullied straight up. Good footwork on the scoop in zone play. Works hard and does well at keeping his feet in the ground. Because of his height and reach, defenders seldom try to use a pass rush move on him. Will set and sit on the outside rusher. Uses his hands well, runs the wide “9” up the field. Does an excellent job reacting to stunts, passing off inside move to pick up twist. Pass sets a bit deep on 3-step. Tends to overset in pass protection. Could use better overall strength in his game. Needs to continue to develop his foot speed. With his height and a good reach, his future could be in the hands of his wanting to put the work in. Struggles with edge run blocking, needs to keep his feet in goal line offense as well. Appears to be developing a better overall game, hopefully that upward rise continues. Can be brought along and become more “seasoned” in the proper environment. He’s a project but upside is there for a mid to late round pick.
Draft projection: 3rd/4th round
