Well-built safety prospect with a thick midsection and great arm length. A leader in the back end who helps the secondary make adjustments. Physicality to jam tight ends at the line on their release. Nimble on his feet while maneuvering the field and eyeing the quarterback. His bail technique helps him carry receivers vertical while staying over top of them. Elite change-of-direction skills for someone of his size to take away multiple underneath routes in zone coverage. Able to carry running backs out of the backfield in man coverage. Uses his length and reaction speed to get his hands on the ball in the air and come away with picks and breakups. Plays his best football towards the box using his aggressive temperament to make an impact at the line-of-scrimmage. Flies downhill with great acceleration to fill run lanes or blitz the quarterback in a hurry. Not afraid to initiate contact in the trenches. Reliable last line of defense who will tackle low and bring ball carriers to the ground in space. Straight line speed is just a step slow. Lacks feel from depth and struggles to recognize weaknesses in coverage allowing receivers to exploit holes around him. Impatient when reading the play and will prematurely commit causing him to get out of position too often. While he is physical taking on blocks, he struggles to shed with a lack of hand usage. Major difficulties taking on crack blocks and gets knocked to the ground consistently. Plants his feet in the ground on tackling attempts making him prone to getting driven back on contact.
