UCLA | Hometown: Pueblo, CO | HT: 6027 | WT: 222 | 40 time: 4.46 | Hand: 0918 | Arm: 3258 | Wing: 7714
Two year starter. Third team All-Big 10 in 2024. Has played six years for the Bruins and was a team captain. Slender frame with good length. Athletic with fluid movement skills. Played both off the ball and as an overhang player. Key diagnose and reactions are quick with accurate downhill fits at inside gaps. Shows excellent agility with ability to redirect in a short space, stick his foot in the ground and accelerate. Has range in pursuit chasing across the field. Shows ability to avoid blocks on the move. Consistently finds the shortest path to the ball in chase mode. Has been used to blitz the edge with enough speed to turn the corner. Has been effective in coverage with depth of drop in zone and decent route recognition. Has sudden stop/start quickness breaking on short underneath throws. Has pass break skill getting a hand to the catch point. Uses his length to stress the throwing lane. At his best in man coverage mirroring backs out of the backfield. Can take a slot receiver up the seam and stay in phase. Will drift at times in zone coverage and let receivers get free underneath. Lack of a strong base shows on straight up and angle blocks as he can get easily knocked off his path. Tends to run around blocks rather than take them on. Has some missed tackles by lunging, taking a bad angle or not gathering. Has a high missed tackle percentage. This will have to improve to succeed in the NFL. Has been a core special team player throughout his career and that along with playing as a sub package linebacker could be his ticket.
