Three-year starter. Veteran on the Alabama defensive line with an eye-popping 64 games in his arsenal. Versatility to be effective across the defensive line from zero-tech to five-tech. Massive defensive tackle prospect who towers over opposing linemen. Quick first step off the snap for someone of his size. Willing to attack linemen with a forceful punch on engagement. Big run stuffer who is able to hold a point with his sheer size and strength. Excellent at two-gapping keeping his hips square to the mesh point, peeks into the backfield to locate the ball carrier, and able to shed with strong hands when runners show up in his gap. Bulldozes pullers like they aren’t even there to blow up runs in the backfield. Utilizes his strong hands and an arm-over to disengage and fill his gap when the runner approaches. Anchors down and able to hold his own against double teams. Tackles with excellent form and strength to bring down ball carriers of all sizes. Uses a strong stab move and slap-and-rip to slam linemen into the dirt and work into the backfield in pass rush. Due to his height he naturally plays with a high pad level and can be out-leveraged on engagement. Inconsistencies show up when shedding and can get stuck on blocks for longer than necessary. Marginal suddenness as he struggles mightily to cross-face with heavy feet. Tight hips hinder his ability to redirect. Ineffective in pass rush. Shows very few moves to win when engaged and his athletic limitations hinder his ability on stunts.
