Four year starter (one at Florida International). Solid frame with thickness and length. Played at Florida International for two years where he was a Freshman All-America. Has now spent the last three seasons at LSU where he has started 39 of 40 games as a right guard. Keeps his feet in the grass with a solid base. Quick short pull across the hole is quick. Good hand placement. Well-schooled like most of the LSU linemen, it appears he has a nasty edge to his play. Slips up neatly to get out on the tunnel screen. Has a next level sized frame. Great first step helps him quickly engage defensive lineman. Sets his backend down on the short passing game and has a strong punch. Keeps his feet moving. Shows good agility/mobility on short traps and pulls. Long arms help keep blockers at bay in pass protection. Coordinates hands and feet well with punch and mirror. Has vision to react to tackle twists and end/tackle stunts. Lateral movement could be better and range on reach blocks. Needs to work on his balance in keeping a solid run base. Pad level needs to get lower, must work on footspeed to upgrade his pass protection. Was a big part of a skilled well-coached group at LSU. Appears to be a lunch pail player, will make a team better.
