One-year starter. Third-team All America and first-team All-AAC in 2024. Aligned as an outside cornerback which is his ideal fit at the next level. Long, slender frame with elite arm length. Notable press skills with polished footwork to jam receivers. Considerable athletic ability for someone of his size that shows up in every facet of his game. When flat-footed, solid start-stop ability out of his stance when coming downhill. Underneath in zone, he has a great feel for leverage and recognition for route concepts to take away multiple routes at once. Excellent against high-low concepts. Great technique in man coverage to stay on the low shoulder of the receiver on in-breaking routes with excellent eye discipline. Overwhelms smaller receivers with his long frame. Excellent ball skills; great at timing up getting his hands inside and will break up passes with his back to the quarterback. His explosiveness matched with his length and patience in zone allows him to undercut passes and get his hands on the ball. Aggressive on contact to get push on his initial punch versus blockers. Willing to help in run support. In pursuit he highlights exceptional straight-line speed and will catch runners from behind. Slow out of his break in transition due to some hip stiffness. Sometimes gives too much space in cover three allowing uncontested catches. Problems getting off of blocks on the perimeter, and sometimes loses vision of the ball which takes himself out of the picture. Difficulty making tackles in space with high pad level and fringe functional strength. Needs to add some weight to prevent him from getting bullied by bulked-up receivers at the next level. Turns 25 years old early in his rookie season.
