Junior entry. Three year starter. Started 37 games in his career. His father Pete, was a first round draft choice of the Seattle Seahawks in 1996, and had a 13-year NFL career. A long lean physical body, with solid athleticism as seen with his Combine results. Shows good functional foot quickness and speed. Technically very sound player with a good football IQ. Creates separation with a good non-snapping hand punch that controls the defender. Powerful in the lower body, shows good pull quickness and excellent body control. Understands zone concepts and when to come off the defender and climb to the next level. Knows all the aiming points for a center in today’s game. In pass protection, shows a good anchor sinking when he needs to. Shows a good grip with strong hands. His hand and foot speed keep him alive in passing situations. Decent accurate punch creating separation. More than adequate footwork allows him to mirror defenders and react to counters. Needs to continue to lower his hips, working on flexibility. Needs to continue work on a more consistent punch. Must add more functional weight to be added to his lean frame, which will help him hold up better against the NFL bigger defensive tackles. His technique and work ethic will allow him to compete for a roster spot in camp. A work in progress as an NFL player.
