2025 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about TORY HORTON:
Colorado State | Hometown: Fresno, CA | HT: 6024 | WT: 196 | 40 time: 4.41 | Hand: 0900 | Arm: 3058 | Wing: 7700
Four year starter. Spent two seasons at Nevada prior to transferring to Colorado State in 2022, following Head Coach Jay Norvell. Two-time first-team All-Mountain West as a receiver and two-time all conference as a punt returner. Had his 2024 season cut short in October after suffering a knee injury that required surgery. Thin but strong frame with a loose lower half that can get through contact and break tackles. A unique prospect who is easy to overlook because of the injury and lack of national exposure. The production, multiple usage capabilities, and movement traits all project to a useful player at the next level. He can get open, make plays in traffic, and create after the catch. Highly competitive player who shows toughness across multiple situations. Plays through pain. Explosive and powerful first few steps off the line. Capable of complete deceleration in a hurry. Can twist and turn near the boundary with excellent coordination. Has scored a punt return touchdown in each of the past three seasons. Blends functional strength and breakaway speed with good vision and agility. Can get through contact and break tackles. May not have enough pure speed to get and stay over the top of coverage. Needs to tune up his release against press corners. Needs more urgency coming back to the ball. As long as he can fully recover from the surgery, he will be an impactful weapon at the next level.
