Notre Dame | Hometown: Wadsworth, OH | HT: 6052 | WT: 253 | 40 time: 4.72 | Hand: 0912 | Arm: 3178 | Wing: 7700
Two year starter. Has a solid height/weight ratio with good arm length. Versatile athlete, he's a former high school quarterback. He is your prototypical big tight end at 6’5 and 260 pounds but was more of a big slot receiver than an attached tight end. Had season-ending knee injuries in 2022 and 2023. Works hard at keeping a solid base for run blocking, keeps his pads down and gets movement off the ball. Strong hands to clamp on a defender blocking the edge. Can seal the edge on outside runs. Solid receiver with soft hands and ability to settle in between defenders in zone coverage. Length gives him a good catch radius with ability to make difficult catches. A scrappy ball carrier after the catch who will fight for more yards. The Notre Dame offense didn’t take enough advantage of his ability to find the soft spot in the defense. His big frame should be utilized at the next level. Questions arise on his initial burst off the ball at the line of scrimmage. Appears a little late on down blocks. Occasionally runs into coverage on some routes and is late adjusting. Inconsistent route running skills as he needs to be more precise getting in and out of his cuts. Needs to continue to learn the nuances of the position. Injury history is a concern although was completely healthy in 2024. Has the upside of a quality NFL tight end.
