Junior entry, three year starter. Honorable mention All-Big 10 in 2024. Started 14 games at guard as a redshirt freshman, had an injury shortened sophomore year and started all 14 games at right tackle as a junior. Quick off the ball, his initial burst makes up for what may be considered a lack of bulk in his athletic frame. Gets up to the second level with a great understanding of where the linebackers are heading. Can get movement on second level blocks and consistently seal a linebacker from the play. His ability to engage in combination blocks shows a real sense of understanding the job at hand. Plays hard through the whistle. Athleticism allows him to mirror the defender in pass protection. Very good with his hands keeping a blocker at bay. Reacts quickly to counters with patient footwork. Struggles in getting his back end down in pass protection. As “only” a 300 pounder, needs to work hard to fill his body up. Needs to throw his hands up and get his head up in pass protection. Needs more strength at the point of attack. His future is bright, being athletic and having experience as both a tackle and a guard. Maybe be a bit short-armed for tackle, however he makes up for it with quickness. In the right situation, he will be developed as a versatile offensive lineman. Projects well as a backup sixth man type player.
