2025 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about SHEDEUR SANDERS:
Colorado | Hometown: Dallas, TX | HT: 6014 | WT: 212 | 40 time: N/A | Hand: 0938 | Arm: 3112 | Wing: 7734
Four-year starter. Spent two seasons at Jackson State prior to transferring to Colorado to follow his father, Hall of Fame cornerback and Head Coach Deion Sanders. Two-time All-Conference at FBS level and a 2024 All-American. Winner of the Jerry Rice Award (top FCS freshman) in 2021. Sanders has been groomed to play quarterback since his early days, and it shows up both on and off the field. He is a field commander who knows the game inside and out. There is a cleanliness to his game from a mechanical perspective across the board. His polished footwork and release pave the path for his excellent accuracy and ball placement to all levels of the defense. He is used to the spotlight. Can handle pressure and understands all of the jobs a face of the franchise needs to accept at the next level. Will not be caught off guard about the demands of the role. Puts the ball where it needs to be. A receiver-friendly passer who understands defenses, touch, and timing. Adept at throwing receivers open and getting the ball in tight windows. Clean mechanics from top to bottom. Repeatable footwork and hip involvement as a passer with a clean pocket. Consistent over the top release with excellent tempo that creates outstanding accuracy and placement. Layers the ball between levels of the defense. Good decision maker who trusts his arm. Protects the ball exceptionally well. Shows good feel for coverages and route combinations. Tough as nails. Will wait until the last moment to get the ball out, knowing a hit is coming. Has a lot of check marks on his score sheet, but lacks stand out Athletic ability. His size is somewhat of a shortcoming. He tends to drift backwards against pass rush pressure instead of stepping up. This creates inconsistent follow through, footwork and hip rotation in his throwing motion which can cause a lack of zip on his passes. Needs to be fundamentally sound to bring out his arm talent. Without that deeper intermediate throws outside the numbers become difficult. Lacks great lateral movement moving away from the rush. There’s somewhat of a slowness to his game he needs to fix. Will need to speed things up to consistently fit balls into NFL windows.Has enough movement skill to escape the rush with an opening but doesn’t use his feet enough. The weaknesses in his game could put a cap on his ceiling but there is also a safe feel to his potential. If he can improve his response to pressure and play on time more consistently, he can lead a quality NFL offense.
