Maryland | Hometown: Ocoee, FL | HT: 6015 | WT: 313 | 40 time: N/A | Hand: 1000 | Arm: 3200 | Wing: 8114
Three year starter. Powerful, strong frame with a plus wingspan. Has been a consistent leader for the Terps the last two years. Lined up often as a nose tackle as a 0 or 1 technique. Also had significant reps as a 2, 2i , 4 and 4i. At his best close to the ball showing an explosive first step and quick hands to create separation. Plays with disciplined gap integrity and locates the ball off blocks. Anchors the point and gives a great second effort if blocked. Keeps battling to the whistle. Often used on tackle twists, he’s effective as the first man hitting the gap. Can be a pest in the backfield penetrating and disrupting. Has shown an effective stab and swim move to quickly shed a block. He’s a lateral mover who gets in on tackles along the line and can be a problem for blocking schemes. Shows the same stab and arm over in the pass rush along with a powerful bull rush. Also counters with a spin move on quick setting linemen. While he shows good early movement, he has trouble finishing in the pass rush. While he can create pressure, production has been very limited. Some movements can be segmented inhibiting his ability to shed and get to the ball. Has some trouble reacting on zone schemes and is sealed at times. Does his job and fills his gap but has not been a dynamic playmaker. Has been a solid but unspectacular player who does his job. There’s upside for more and he projects as a two down rotational nose tackle.
2024 Stats: 29 T, 1 TFL, 2 QBH. BP-29. Draft projection: 5th-6th round
