2025 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about JOSHUA FARMER:
Florida State | Hometown: Port St. Joe, FL | HT: 6032 | WT: 305 | 40 time: 5.11 | Hand: 1014 | Arm: 3500 | Wing: 8338
Two year starter. Second team All-ACC in 2023 and honorable mention All-ACC in 2024. Thick well-proportioned build with length. Played primarily a three and a one technique but also aligned as a 2i and 0 techniques. Flashes a quick get off at the snap and often gets penetration on slants and gap charges. Shoots his hands into blocks and when he keeps them inside can snap a blocker’s head back and lock him out. Shows a quick, powerful push-pull or rip to escape a block. Normally plays at good pad level with leverage on blocks and the ball. Has ability to control blocks and be an effective two gap player. Moves well laterally and gets in on tackles across the line. Chases and plays to the whistle. Has made several plays with second effort. As a pass rusher, when pad level is low shows a powerful bull rush to push the pocket. Effectively used a bull rush into a swim and rip move along with a cross chop. Other than a push-pull there’s not much in the way of counters. He’s inconsistent with technique and pad level. When he gets upright he’s too easily stalemated. While he flashes ability to split double teams he struggles to stay low and hold the point. He can get knocked off the ball and turned. On slants at times gets washed past the play. Occasionally takes a side on a block instead of fighting pressure. Can have problems anticipating and reacting to down blocks. Flashes solid play in all areas and has some versatility. He lacks consistency, but has physical traits to work with. Has rotational potential.
