One-year starter. Suffered a season-ending injury midway through the 2024 season. Best as a standup edge defender with flexibility to bump inside to off-ball linebacker. Tall and long, but possesses a light frame for an edge rusher. Highly explosive off the line and puts pressure on tackles immediately. Impressive movement skills with fluidity in his hips to change direction in space rapidly. Aggressive at the point-of-contact and fights to contain. Patience on the backside of run plays and will not overcommit. Shows the tools and talent to be successful as a pass rusher and was able to win on multiple occasions in one-on-one situations. Impressive speed-to-power while getting underneath pads to drive tackles into the backfield. Twitch to flash across tackles’ faces and show up on the interior gap. Solid cornering ability to fip his hips inside and angle towards the signal caller. Impressive closing speed and makes ground quickly with a hunger to sack the quarterback. Underneath in zone he shows lateral agility while reading the quarterback and reacts accordingly. At off-ball linebacker he scrapes tight to the line and uses his vision to locate ball carriers. Made his money on special teams for most of his career and can make an impact from day one. Fringe functional strength and needs to add muscle all around his frame. Struggles to sink his weight and anchor on the edge; will get widened quickly. Difficulties extending and shedding due to strength limitations and can get stuck when tackles get their hands on him. Still developing as a pass rusher. Proper tackling form, but struggles to bring down without allowing yards-after-contact. Does not have a ton of snaps on defense throughout his career and less than one season of starting experience.
