Five-year starter. Transfer from Middle Tennessee State prior to the 2022 season. Second-team All ACC in 2024, honorable mention in 2023, first-team All Conference USA in 2021. Plays a mixture of outside cornerback and in the slot in Louisville’s defense utilizing a mixture of man and zone coverages. Solid build with decent arm length. Intelligent player who is best in zone coverage where he can read and react to quarterback intentions. Quick feet and square hips when escorting receivers off the line, and uses a solid punch to lock them up early. Fluid pedal and is able to keep everything in front of him. Solid agility and balance when dropping in cover three. Solid twitch and change-of-direction skills to drop his weight and break on underneath routes. Passes off targets in deep zone seamlessly. Physicality throughout the route helps him stay in-phase and in position to play the ball. Reacts quickly when the quarterback cracks the egg to undercut passes and get his hands on the ball. Excellent at playing the low shoulder of the receiver to pick off passes. Aggressive when fighting into the backfield in run support. In condensed space he utilizes proper tackling form to finish plays. Subtle hip tightness shows up in press coverage when turning to run downfield with receivers. Underneath, can get mixed up with multiple threats in his zone and can allow easy catches. Below average recovery speed on vertical routes and shows difficulty to catch up when he falls behind. In space he sometimes dives on tackling attempts leading to misses. When his receiver comes inside he often collapses too far inside leaving wide open running lanes towards the sideline.
