Three year starter. All-Atlantic Sun Conference in 2022, 2023 and 2024. Named to several FCS All-America teams in 2023 and 2024. Earned the 2024 Buck Buchanan award given to the best FCS defensive player. Transferred from Division ll Southern Arkansas in 2022. Compact frame with a thick powerful lower body with solid athleticism. Played on the ball linebacker in a two point stance and a three point on obvious passing downs. Lined up in wide nine down to a five technique. Quick at the snap, he shows immediate power attacking blocks. Plays at a low pad level with quick violent hands to separate from blocks. Sets the edge with force and can chase to the perimeter. Moves well laterally to chase inside to across the field runs. Gathers and drives through tackles with leg drive and finish. Has been effective on inside stunts creating havoc in the backfield. Shows ability to drop to the flat and find the throwing lane. Extremely productive pass rusher he’s piled up sacks and pressures over the last three seasons. At his best with power moves including a powerful bull rush which sets up other moves. He can go arm under and over or a quick push pull. Also uses a quick out to in move as a counter. Has acceleration to chase quarterback’s vacating the pocket. Bend and flex around the arc is inconsistent and he can struggle to drop his weight. Agility is average to above average as at times he appears a little tight redirecting in space. Shorter than ideal arms affect stack and shed as he can get stalled by a powerful tackle. Seemed overwhelmed early at the Senior Bowl by the step up in competition. Projects well as a rotational edge defender.
