Texas | Hometown: Englewood, CO | HT: 6050 | WT: 241 | 40 time: 4.84 | Hand: 0978 | Arm: 3300 | Wing: 7934
Two year starter. Honorable mention All-Big 12 the past two seasons. Played four years at Texas with 25 starts. Good physical measurables with exceptional height, weight, and the ability to get around the field of play. Has a good initial burst off the line of scrimmage. Runs a great rub route off of the umpire. Runs precise routes getting in and out of break with ease. Soft hands with a catch radius for difficult throws. Competitive after the catch he shows some elusiveness and tackle breaking skill. Can block the edge with positioning and running his feet. On some of his blocking assignments he gets his hands to the outside of the defender’s shoulders. Good hands on his punch with extended arms on defensive backs. His blocking was vital in Texas’ swing and bubble game. Can block the edge with positioning. His base is sometimes too wide causing a balance problem. Needs to ready himself for the big boys at the next level. Needs to show the ability to get open down the field more, not just in the hooks or flat routes. Showed the kind of character needed when he completed the Combine 40-yard dash with a sprained ankle. Needs to add some strength and develop the blocking skills necessary to body up. His game appeared on an upward arc, improving every week as the season went along. His versatility and ability to help on special teams will help his NFL stock.
