Four-year starter. Transfer from North Texas early in his career. First-team All-Conference USA in 2024, honorable mention in 2022. Has aligned outside, in the slot, and at deep safety for Western Kentucky. Tiny defensive back prospect with short arms but a muscular frame. Quick to get his run/pass read and react accordingly. Patient at the line with square hips and quick feet to cut off shifty slot receivers. Fluid lower half to backpedal with no hiccups. An “in-your-face pest” who won’t leave you alone until the play is made. Sticks to receivers across the field with his athletic profile, man coverage technique, and excellent hip fluidity. Sits down quickly to match comebacks, hitches, and whip routes. Notable recovery speed and can catch up quickly when he falls behind. Exceptional short-area burst to close space in a split second in transition. From safety he gains depth instantly with excellent agility and fluidity. Great range from depth utilizing his straight-line speed and advanced change-of-direction skills. Nasty on the perimeter with tenacious energy that makes him difficult to block, and his second effort helps him make plays. Aggressive in the box and eager to get involved in run support. Will fire into the backfield as a blitzer to meet the quarterback or running back at the mesh point. Holds show up in coverage due to his over-aggressive nature. Occasionally peeks into the backfield in man and loses his target. Underneath he can lose targets in his zone while visioning the quarterback. Low ball production with difficulty getting his hands in the way. Can get driven out of the picture by wide receivers in the run game. Lack of size and length leaves concerns for tackling at the next level.
