2025 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about DILLON GABRIEL:
Oregon | Hometown: Mililani, HI | HT: 5111 | WT: 205 | 40 time: N/A | Hand: 0914 | Arm: 2958 | Wing: 7300
Six-year starter who had his 2021 season cut short three games in due to injury. The all-time leader in career starts (63) and second all-time leading passer in FBS. Finished third in the 2024 Heisman Trophy voting in addition to winning the Big 10 Offensive Player of the Year Award and an All-America honor. Spent three seasons at Central Florida, two at Oklahoma, and one at Oregon. His experience and polish are top shelf traits. A proven playmaker who plays with a point guard-style brand of the position. For six straight years he averaged over eight yards per attempt, finished with single-digit interceptions, and averaged under 2.95 seconds to throw with an NFL passer rating of above 105. When in open space he can see the field and get the ball out quickly with accuracy. His polish, experience, and knowledge of the game will suit him well in a backup role that can keep things together if he is relied on. Fast and sudden footwork with cohesion from top to bottom. Aligns himself with good balance and weight distribution constantly. Repeatable, clean release that throws a clean, catchable ball. Anticipates creases and openings well. Excellent on the move. Shifty and quick mover who can maintain all of his arm talent moving in any direction. Improvement against pressure over his career was obvious. Sound decision maker who protects the ball and plays on time within the structure of the offense. Lack of size will put a cap on his potential and widen the risk of error. Gets lost in traffic and will have a hard time consistently seeing the field. The obvious limitation will never change. His size profile is in rare territory. Nearly all of his snaps in college came out of shotgun where that lack of vision and height can be improved. Needs to be near-perfect in other areas to hide the size-limitation. Arm strength will struggle to meet the minimum requirement when he cannot line up his lower half.
2024 Stats: 326/447, 3857 yds, 72.9%, 30 TD, 6 INT, 7 rushing TD, 164.9 QB rating. Draft projection: 5th-6th round
