Three-year starter. Honorable mention All-America in 2024 and two-time first-team All-ACC. He was the leader of the back-end of the Virginia defense and played a variety of roles, including as a blitzer off the edge. An enticing frame with notable length that needs to add more muscle mass to eliminate strength concerns. Smooth movements in space make him a threat to make plays on the ball all over the field. Best in coverage closer to the line-of-scrimmage where he can use burst and reaction skills to meet offensive threats at the catchpoint. In two-high schemes, he shows the athleticism to hold his own as a deep-half defender. When the quarterback scrambles, he will locate and plaster on to the nearest threat with solid man coverage technique. Excels at locating and constricting running lanes with authority. Flows well with the running back and meets them at the line-of-scrimmage. A reliable last line of defense who can make tackles in the open field when he drops his pads. Bites on play-action regularly and leaves wide open passing lanes behind him. Despite his willingness to help, he too often shied away from contract when engaging with blockers and ball carriers. Often tackles with high pad level allowing ball carriers to shrug him off and break tackles. Fringe strength allows for significant yards-after-contact against tight ends and bigger running backs. While he takes great angles to the ball carrier, he does not play with consistent effort in pursuit and leaves a lot to be desired.
