Two year starter, one at Oregon and one at Houston. Transferred from Houston after the 2023 season. Also played one season at Independence CC in Kansas. Second team All-Big 12 in 2023 and honorable mention All-Big 10 in 2024. Bulky frame with a strong lower body and a wide base. Shows a quick explosive first step which stuns blockers with his power and hand usage. Normally plays with a low pad level and gets his hands inside on a blocker’s frame. Can separate and come off a block and make an inline play. Flashes ability to penetrate gaps with decent lateral movement to locate the ball. At his best anchoring inside and absorbing double teams. Extremely difficult to move off the line, he creates opportunities for linebackers to easily flow to the ball. As a pass rusher his quickness allows him to attack centers in pass sets and get upfield. Has flashed ability to win with a rip move or various hand swipes. Was productive with that at Houston and also at the Senior Bowl practices. Was used more in that role at Houston. At Oregon he was more of a space eater and has been more effective as a collapse the pocket player. Lacks the sustained speed to consistently chase down quarterbacks, but his quickness gives him a chance to immediately get in the quarterback's face. At times he’s a little slow to shed causing him to miss inline tackle opportunities. Wasn’t as effective playing against the top guards on the schedule. It appeared his average length allowed some blockers to neutralize him at times. Range along the line is somewhat limited. His fit is most likely a rotational defender with limited reps on obvious passing downs.
