Iowa | Hometown: Hamilton, OH | HT: 6010 | WT: 224 | 40 time: 4.57 | Hand: 0958 | Arm: 3300 | Wing: 7812
Junior entry, three-year starter. Two-time All-Big 10, first team in 2024 in addition to being named a Doak Walker Award finalist. A big, strong, and physical but nimble-footed back capable of winning in several ways. Finished third in the country in yards after contact and his 21 rushing touchdowns set an Iowa program record. Scored in every game last fall. Evolved into a big play threat but also made a name for himself on a grind-it-out, between the tackles style that can bring a physical brand to a backfield. Often plays the role of the aggressor while subtly missing enough contact to consistently fall forward and pick up extra yards. Checks a lot of boxes when it comes to what teams want out of a lead power back that leans toward outside zone blocking concepts. Balanced runner with good forward lean. Protects the ball well. Zero fumbles across 262 touches over his final season. Can feel the rushing lanes before they appear. Can feel the defender’s vulnerabilities before they attempt to pounce. Agile and light-footed but carries and uses thickness around the hips. Makes it a chore to get him to the ground. A true finisher after initial contact. A pure hands catcher. Will run high at times. Struggles to lower his pad level through traffic. Pure explosion and burst can limit some of his big play capabilities. Poor blocking habits when it comes to both effort and technique. Needs to show more desire there to be considered a complete back.
