Ourlads' Profile:
2025 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about NICK MARTIN:
Oklahoma State | Hometown: Texarkana, TX | HT: 5114 | WT: 221 | 40 time: 4.53 | Hand: 0914 | Arm: 3200 | Wing: 7838
Two year starter. First team All-Big 12 in 2023. Missed seven games with a knee injury in 2024. Undersized but a compact muscular frame. Athletic with quick read and react at the snap. Fires downhill on inside runs and can hit a gap to make a play at the line. Shows solid lateral agility in short spaces to redirect off blocks. Shows knee bend and pop with his hands getting leverage on blocks. Can shed on the move working to the ball. Sideline to sideline range and accelerates to make plays on outside runs. Has a closing burst as a blitzer and a knack for timing the snap. In coverage, exhibits mirror ability on backs out of the backfield with speed to cover up the field. Run fits are inconsistent and at times he takes himself out of plays with bad angles to the ball. Misses too many tackles in space with a poor path to the play. Has trouble locating the ball on any misdirection or cutbacks. Climbing blockers can latch on and neutralize him. In zone coverage he often gets attracted to one receiver allowing a throwing window. Bad angles can be a problem at times covering flat and wheel routes. Martin’s tape was better in 2023 and he flashed solidly at the Senior Bowl. Some questions exist but there are positive traits. He excelled on coverage teams earlier in his career so may have a role there. Projects as a backup and special team player.
