Three year starter. Transferred from LSU after the 2021 season. First team All-SEC in 2023 and second team All-SEC in 2024. Jackson has imposing size and length that is ideal for what the NFL is looking for on the edge. He’s versatile and has lined up from a wide nine all the way inside to a zero technique. Plays with a hot motor and makes a lot of his plays with second effort. Flashes explosiveness at the snap and shoots powerful hands into a blocker to create separation. Shows a violent stack and shed and can quickly get off a block and make plays inline or on the edge. Adept at holding the point. Huge tackle radius allows him to set the edge and limit perimeter runs. As a pass rusher he has a variety of moves flashing powerful hands on his get off. Has enough speed to turn the corner and chase. Also shows hand swipes and a bull rush into a move. His first step get off is inconsistent with average quickness. As a result he can be neutralized by a powerful blocker. Could use more consistent technique in pass rush to increase production. Lacks the bend and ankle flexion to quickly turn the corner coming off the edge. Has some lateral stiffness and it takes him longer than ideal to sink his hips to change direction. Athletic tackles can ride him out. His pass rush can be upright and there is a tendency to play tall, losing leverage. Still has upside and the power element and motor make him a prospect who can play in a lot of systems. Could conceivably play outside and kick inside in the nickel package.
