Junior entry. One year starter. Second team All-ACC in 2024. Played his youth football in Cancun, Mexico. Was slowed by a knee injury early in his collegiate career, for the better part of two seasons. Started 13 games in 2024, catching 35 passes for 7 touchdowns. Big frame with muscular arms, good reach and an athletic build. Has the arm length, which exceeds his overall height, to snag balls over his head. Has a good “feel” to find holes in the defense. A willing participant in a run-oriented offense, but is still very “green” in his ability to “see it” on the run and being able to sink down and firm up. Excellent stop/start quickness to go with eye opening speed for a big man. Has soft hands and can make the tough catch look easy. Is always a downfield threat. A scrapper who will fight for the extra yards. Has big play capabilities. Needs to sharpen up his ability to get in and out of cuts. A work in progress as a blocker but has shown improvement. Needs to sink his hips and shoot his hands when blocking defensive ends. These are skills that he will need to continue to improve on. Needs to prioritize explosion getting off the ball and into his pass route. Could be injury prone, after missing almost two seasons with injury. Still very inexperienced but the upside is there. Only has one full season injury free. That said he opened some eyes at the Combine and Senior Bowl and vaulted into the top tier of tight ends.
