Junior entry, two year starter. Second team All-SEC in 2024. Slender frame with loose hips and smooth movement skill. Primarily played field corner but occasionally lined up inside as a hole player. Played off and press man along with cover three variations with some hard corner and cover four. In off coverage often played with a big cushion. Shows a fluid pedal with pacing to maintain cushion on initial releases. Easy controlled transitions to lateral and turn and run both in man and zone turns. Solid zone awareness and vision. Played the deep outside reacting to route combinations attacking overlapping zones with quick adjustments. In man coverage flashed an off-hand jam in press and occasionally lined up deeper and used a catch and run technique to disrupt the route stem. Rarely gave up inside leverage and was quick to flip his hips on a baseball turn versus a double move. Excellent recovery speed if separated. Has the speed to stay with the fastest receivers and mirror cuts throughout the route. Ultra quick acceleration on plant and drive with the ball in the air. Has an extra gear closing. Ball production is elite with ability to locate the ball in phase and timing leap to the catch point. Elite catch radius he gets his hand in the basket consistently when closing in man coverage. His closing burst has made him effective chasing on corner blitzes. While he’s willing in run support he lacks physicality and strong hands to get off a block. Tackling is a liability as he’s missed multiple tackles by not wrapping, lunging, or taking a bad angle. Has occasionally failed to locate the ball in phase by sneaking an early peek. Has NFL cover tools but run support and tackling will have to improve.
