Three-year starter. Three-time All-Big 10, twice as a receiver and once as a returner. Egbuka was an early contributor that made an impact on a team with future first rounders Marvin Harrison Jr., Chris Olave, and Garrett Wilson in the receiver room. As a sophomore in 2022, he was the team’s number two threat who finished ninth in the country in both yards and receptions of 10+ yards. Injuries slowed him down in 2023, but he came back strong as a senior, finishing top five in a stacked Big10 in catches, yards, and touchdowns. He is a safe, polished receiver who will contribute to the return game as well. Lacks a standout positive trait, but he also lacks a hole in his armor. Right on the line for the average measurement of a pro receiver. Strong lower body and hands create a stable feel to him physically. Will look the ball into his framed-up hands with a smooth post-catch transition upfield. Vision and reaction to the defense will create big plays. Abrupt acceleration and shows the ability to suddenly stop and alter his direction. Tracks the ball over his shoulder. Very aware of spacing and boundaries. Does not jump off the screen athletically. Not a consistent pass catcher in traffic. Let a few balls hit him in the chest on crossers. Needs to be more aggressive. Deep game impact will be limited. He is most comfortable, experienced, and productive from the slot but the variance in his skill set and feel for the game can lead to production from any alignment that helped lead him to being the all-time leading receiver in program history.
