Texas A&M | Hometown: Miami Gardens, FL | HT: 6050 | WT: 267 | 40 time: 4.59 | Hand: 0958 | Arm: 3438 | Wing: 8434
Junior entry, one year starter and a rotational player for two seasons prior. Third team All-SEC in 2024. Rare athlete for someone his size. Versatile defender who has lined up all along the Texas A&M front. Has first step suddenness along with speed to pressure as a pass rusher. Extremely powerful and explosive, he’s a challenge to blockers to control wherever he lines up. Playing the run he’s strong to take on blockers as well as using his quickness to penetrate and disrupt attacking a gap. On the edge he uses strong hands and arms to stack and shed a block. Very difficult to reach, he can quickly work off a block and chase to the perimeter. He shows an incredible closing burst in pursuit; can also chase down ball carriers from the backside on the line of scrimmage. Playing the interior he’s a disrupter penetrating gaps, making backs adjust the path and either making a tackle for a loss or creating opportunity for teammates. Has the twitch to change directions and make plays all along the line. As a pass rusher he shows excellent bend and flex coming off the edge. Athletic enough to quickly counter inside. His closing ability can create immediate pressure. He impacts the passing game more than just sacks as he uses his length to get hands in the throwing lane. Also uses his power to collapse the pocket inside. Not as productive as his traits would indicate and he can use better overall technique and more of a pass rush plan. Tends to get upright, losing leverage to shed. Also stalls out at times staying with a speed rush or pushing the pocket. Needs some development, but there is upside to be a dynamic starter in the NFL.
