Junior entry, two year starter. Loveland was a 2023 first team All-Big 10, 2024 second team All-American and a finalist for this year’s John Mackey Award. A big part of the 2023 National Championship team at Michigan. Runs very precise and controlled routes. Rangy body type, sells the upfield pass route before breaking the route. Had 117 career receptions for Michigan. He’s a mismatch for linebackers trying to cover him. Normally an excellent route runner, quick in and out of his breaks. Has excellent hands as a receiver, he will generally catch the ball in front of his soft hands. Will go up and get the ball, giving him a good catch-radius. Will play all the wide receiver positions (inside and outside). His versatility is a big plus. Works hard to get the defender’s hands down and off of him. Plays like a big wide receiver with speed and body control. His versatility as a route runner allows the quarterback a wide range of routes to get him open. Has the speed to stretch the defense. Occasionally can be a bit inconsistent getting sloppy as a route runner trying to just outrun defenders. Not particularly a strong blocker from an inline position. Will get a bit top heavy on some run blocking, not your prototypical aggressive run blocker. Is a little high from time to time on blocking, getting him knocked around. Plays more as a detached tight end than inline. He's a high positional draft pick with a big upside particularly with some of the success his peers have had recently at the next level.
